AMCD-Sponsored Professional Development & Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Policy and Procedures
I. Overview
The Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD) is committed to supporting the professionaldevelopment of its members. This document outlines the policies and procedures for obtaining Continuing EducationUnits (CEUs) through AMCD-sponsored events in partnership with the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC),an approved provider (ACEP No. 2078).
II. CEU Application Process for Prospective Event Hosts
To ensure a smooth and timely review process, prospective hosts must submit the following information no less thaneight (8) weeks prior to the proposed event date:

AMCD Executive Council Member Sponsoring the Event (include ACA number)

Number of NBCC Clock Hours Requested

Event Logistics (Date, Time, Time Zone, Platform)

Promotional Materials (Flyers)

Secure Zoom Link (provided by the host) ​​

Event Eligibility:

Only "Live" (real-time) events will qualify for CEUs

Events must be sponsored by a current AMCD Executive Council member ​​

Registration Fee:
-
All AMCD professional development, including webinars, are subject to a registration fee per attendee.

Registration fee ranges from $15-$50 per attendee based on contractual agreement between AMCD andpresenter. ​​

CEU Fee Schedule:
-
Registrants who require CEUs for attending a professional development event will be required to pay an additionalcost.

$15/hour-AMCD student members; $25/hour AMCD Professionals
-
$20/hour Non-AMCD students; $30/hour non-AMCD professionals

Fees processed via AMCD's official payment processing system

Event sponsor and host can decide on the specific amount based on the event planned.

All CEU fees collected go to AMCD ​

Submission Timeline:

8 weeks prior to the event, submit all required event information as listed above.

4 weeks: CEU eligibility confirmation by AMCDs CEU Coordinator

4 weeks: Final approval and registration setup by AMCDs Community Education Coordinator. AMCD Community

Coordinator sends the evaluation link to the Event Host to share with the attendees at the end of their event. Theattendees will have 2 weeks from the training date to complete the evaluation to be eligible for CEs.
III. Event Promotion
AMCD promotes approved events via:

At least three promotional posts will be made prior to the event by AMCDs Community Education
Coordinator
IV. Post-Event Requirements
It is the AMCDs sponsor and host's responsibility to ensure that event participants are aware of the following:Evaluation and attendance verification will be verified using Zoom.Attendees must attend entire event and complete evaluation to receive CEUsSpell out their names exactly as they want it written on the CEU certificate.AMCD is not responsible for names misspelled on evaluation form and errors may result in delayed certificates.
